Why is my car overheated, smoking, engine light on, and leaking oil?

I was driving down the road when i smelled something cooking. I looked and the engine was Hot. Soon the check engine light came on. I was almost home. I pulled int he garage and opened the hood. It was very hot. Battery is good. The motor still starts. It also is leaking oil on the garage floor. The car has never done that. I recentlyl got the oil changed and it was full, but I am wondering if they did something to mess it up?

First step - check the coolant level in the radiator / coolant reservoir - when the engine is cooled off. Make the coolant level is checked and maintained at the proper 50/50 water and anti-freeze mixture. Next step, have the check engine light scanned for the stored touble codes. Then, check and refill the engine oil to the proper level.
