Why does my car keep dying?

My car keeps dying while I'm driving if I don't let it warm up. This has only started since it has turned cold. It will die a couple of times until it is warmed up. I pull over and put it in park. When I push the start button again it acts like it has a hard time starting. The motor will spin for probably at least 10 seconds before it turns over. Also once I restart it, if I try to rev it up I will have the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the RPMS will very slowly climb to 3 but will not go any higher.

Many possibilities; faulty / clogged air filter, engine vacuum leak, air intake leak, worn spark plugs - to list only a few.
What is the vehicle mileage? What items have been tested or diagnosed so far?
