2000 Ford Mustang Base 6 Cyl 3.8L

Engine

My car just died when I stopped at a light and then started right back up

Just had oil changed, new battery bought recently. Runs fine while driving, but struggles sometimes when I come to a stop.

Could be a few things, an engine control such as MAF sensor or crank sensor or it could be an ignition coil that is causeing the problem.

How major/costly are those types of repairs?

well it depends, some places can charge pretty high for diagnosing the problem, while others will find the problem and then just charge for the repair. a maf sensor is an easy repair but the part can be a little pricey but you can find them online for cheaper than factory. I would use the find a shop tab and try calling a couple guys in your area and see who will diagniose it for free, then see what he tells you it is come back here and maybe we can help you find the cheapest option.
