The 3.0L V6 engine has a timing belt - which must be replaced at regular intervals, typically every 60k miles. The engine is an interference design, meaning if the timing belt were to break during engine operation, there is a possibility of major engine component damage; valves hitting the pistons.

In addition, always replace the water pump at the same time as the timing belt, due to the pump is mounted on the engine just behind the timing belt. Cheap insurance - why replace the water pump with the same labor costs, a second time?

Try these on-line resources for the replacement parts: www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.partstrain.com - to list a few.

For example, they (RockAuto) list the replacement timing component kit - including the water pump - from around $116.00 for your vehicle.

Timing component kit = DAYCO part #WP287K1A or it's equivalent. Includes: Water Pump, Timing Belt, Hydraulic Timing Belt Actuator, Camshaft Belt Tensioner, Camshaft Belt Idler Water Pump Kit without Seals
