1995 Buick Riviera Base 6 Cyl 3.80L

Brakes

NO BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAVE A REAR WINDOW BRAKE LIGHT. I HAVE TAIL LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS.

I HAVE A 1995 BUICK RIVIERA(SUPER CHARGE)
6 CYL. 3.8L. 150,000 MILES. I HAVE A BRAKE LIGHT IN THE REAR WINDOW BUT NO REAR BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAVE TURN SIGNALS AND TAIL LIGHTS. THE FUSE IS GOOD. THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS CHANGED OUT BUT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I AM HOPING IT IS NOT THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I WAS DRIVING AND A VEHICLE PULLED ME OVER TO TELL ME I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT STARTED. NO OTHER WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON.

If your rear window brake light works then I would suspect the wiring harness connector. You will need to pul back the carpeting on the inside fire wals to look at.

CHECKED THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR AND THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH. NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING(TURN SIGNAL SWITCH). .

Try grounding metal part (or bulb sockets) tail light assembly to a known grounded part of the frame with a jumper wire and see what that gives you.
