2003 Oldsmobile Alero GL 4 Cyl 2.20L

Why does my Brake dash light come on while I'm driving?

In June the Brake dash light (the same one that comes on when the emergency brake is pulled) started coming on when I would make left turns. It didn't do it all the time, usually just around big turns and it would often go off on it's own a few seconds later or if I put the breaks on. A few friends told me it might be a sensor that was lose or malfunctioning. I got rear-ended in February, but I don't know if that matters. There wasn't any visible damage to my car.
I then started to notice that when the temperature was in the 60's or lower outside (early morning or night driving) the light would come on and stay on more often and not just when turning. Now that the temperatures have gotten colder the light stays on the majority of the time I'm driving. The front disk brakes were replaced last year and the rear drum breaks have been on the car since I bought it in 2007. The brakes don't squeak at all. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me, I'm at a loss of what to do.

See this picture Master Cylinder (Brake System)

Check the brake fluid level, it could be low and it triggered the brake fluid level sensor or the sensor failed to function.
