bear.1216 9/10/2013The day-time running lamps are supposed to be on whenever the vehicle is running. If they stay on when the vehicle is shut off they should turn off with timer. Check the owners manual to learn how to adjust the preference settings for the exterior lights. I believe they are adjusted thru the radio.
HouseCallAuto 9/11/2013There is likely a problem with the ambient light sensor which "sees" when it is light or dark out and turns the headlights on when it is dark. Diagnosis of these systems was never meant to be done without the use of a shop grade scan tool that can read all the live data for this circuit, including fault codes which can only be read by a scan tool that can read BCM data and fault codes. In this case the codes begin with "B" - example B2647. You need these tools to diagnose these circuits otherwise you just guess wrong most times.
