1999 Ford Explorer Sport 6 Cyl 4.00L

Engine

a/c hot air when you start the a/c

about 3 to 5 minutes later start getting cold air but not realy cold is about 60 after driving the car is the same cold. I believe is the bent door actuator or the heater control valve the air condition is working very cold by the accumulator but looks like is not working properly inside the evaporator. I know where the bent door actuator is but I don't know where the heater control valve is I thing you have to remove the evaporator to get to it.
Thank you,
Ray

Hi Ray, i missed that post almost a year and 6 months. I assumed the problem has been fixed.
This vehicle has a blend door actuator, and i agreed with your answer.

The blend door actuator is a servo responsible for controlling the mix of warm air from the heater core and cool air from the A/C and outside. If it malfunctions, your climate control system may not respond properly when you change the temperature on the climate control system.

Both the manual and the automatic systems use this servo to control the blend door. If your ATC system fails to automatically change temp, this is also an indicator that the servo has failed.
