1998 Chevrolet Lumina LS 6 Cyl 3.10L
Engine starts, then stalls no more than a minute later
My Lumina (184,000 miles) made the 10 mile drive home from work with no problems. I parked it, then started it again about 15 minutes later, pulled out and turned into a parking lot where it sputtered and died. I started it again, pulled out of the parking lot and turned onto a (thankfully) very unbusy street where it sputtered and died again. I let it sit overnight parked on the street, found a nearby mechanic with some decent online reviews, started the car and made the 1/2 mile drive to the repair garage with no problems.
Yes, this could be the issue with the car, and the price depends on how much the part cost is. You may ask him what the new TPS costs and find one cheaper yourself to have him install if he is ok with that. He may not give you a warranty on labor if you take this option. He may also be performing other work in addition to the TPS,
