What are the symptoms of the P2402 code?
Normally, no symptoms other than a stored code and a service engine soon lamp will be exhibited.
However, other evaporative emission control system codes are likely to be present.
Common mistakes when diagnosing the P2402 code?
Inordinate amounts of time are often spent attempting to detect a leak when this code is presented before
first testing for leak detection pump operation. However, evaporative emission control system components
are sometimes replaced in error when a vacuum leak is present or the fuel cap is not properly tightened.
What repairs can fix the P2402 code?
Replace the evaporative pump and fuse.
Replace the evaporative pump relay.
Repair the evaporative pump connector pins for corrosion, melted, or loose connections.
