2011 Chevrolet Aveo Base 4 Cyl 1.60L

Change car Battery, now horn won't stop

I just replaced my old car battery recently, and now whenever I hook up the negative terminal on the battery the horn won't stop blaring. Need help.

Disconnect the horn itself - probably a short in the horn itself. If you have a handheld meter, measure the horn wiring connector to ground with 12V (battery voltage) applied.
Also measure the horn resistance (across the wire connections at the horn) itself to see if it is shorted.

In addition, locate and test the horn relay. Easiest way to test is to first locate the horn relay (reference the relay panel diagram in the vehicle owners manual) and exchange / swap out the horn relay with another similar relay from a different position, to see if the problem moves.
