This guide requires the following supplies:
Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.
Remove the bumper cover from the vehicle. Use a door trim panel tool to loosen and remove all the clips/screws that are holding the bumper cover to the vehicle. The clips/screws are located on the end of the bumper cover in the wheelwell and along the top and bottom throughout the cover.
Disconnect any wires or connectors such as fog lights from the bumper.
If there is no damage to the bumper cover set it aside in a safe location.
Locate the bumper brackets on the right and left side of the vehicle below the fender.
Unbolt the bumper brackets from the vehicle. There are usually two bolts that hold the bumper brackets on.
Inspect the area around and underneath the bumper bracket location for any damage that may prevent the new brackets from being installed.
Install the new bumper brackets with new bolts.
Hang the bumper cover on the bumper brackets.
Secure the bumper cover in the bumper bracket by sliding it back and forth.
Re-install the clips/screws starting on one end and working around to the other.
