Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the door and interior window handles.
Remove all screws holding the door panel to the door shell. Using a door panel trim tool, carefully pry the door panel away from the door at the bottom. Refer to the vehicle specific service manual for screw and clip locations.
If necessary, disconnect the electrical connector from the power window switch. Remove the door panel.
Remove the vapor barrier / water shield. Take care not to rip or tear - if re-using plastic barrier.
Disconnect the glass from window regulator.
Tape the glass to door frame. The glass should not require removal.
Remove the window regulator mounting bolts. Slide the regulator assembly out through the interior access opening of the door. If applicable, remove the window motor.
Attach the original motor to the new window regulator and install the regulator assembly. Be sure to apply lubricant; white lithium grease - to the window tracks and moving parts. Tighten the mounting bolts.
Install the window back onto the window regulator.
Re-install the vapor barrier.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the power window switch and reconnect the battery cable connection - or temporarily install the window handle. Test the window operation before proceeding.
Re-install the door trim panel and handles.
Test the window for proper operation by rolling the window completely up and down.
