I had a $20 coupon to change the oil and the filter. I assume and hope this job was done expertly. But during the inspection the mechanic showed me a leak and told that the power steering hose should be replaced and the system flushed. Then he showed me the air engine filter and told it was dirty (it was clean as I could see) and needs to be changed every 15 thsd miles - the manufacturer suggests to change every 30 thsd miles. Then he showed several other issues and came with the list of suggested complete overhaul of the car for $2,915! I showed the car and the list to my regular mechanic who told that the only real thing was a minor leak from the power steering system, and it was NOT from the hose that was undamaged. Also I myself replace ONE windshield wiper instead of the suggested two - the other was just recently replaced. I have had no other similar experience. Of course, i will never again approach this place and will warn all my friends.

I went to this Midas location looking to get brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced per my dealer's recommendation. The sales manager told me that I needed to have all the rotors replaced, not resurfaced, along with all new brake pads. Essentially doubling the price of the service to $800. I told him I would think about it and get back to him. After some online research and speaking to people I know, I came to the conclusion that I did not need to have this work done. My car has under 50000 miles and doesn't show any symptoms that would indicate needing rotors replaced. When I had my brakes checked a third time by another shop, I was told front brakes pads were fine, rear pads would need replacement soon, but there was NO NEED to replace rotors. I saved myself $600! Bottom line do your own research, especially if you are a female, a lot of places look to take advantage of your ignorance, this is one.
