As someone who deals with the general public day to day, I know you can't please everyone all the time. I also know that some people will NEVER be pleased. I can only imagine this would be true for whoever had the gall to post a 1 star rating for this reputable shop. My personal experience could not have been better. Traveling from Tennessee we had incurred issues with our radiator leaking coolant. We pulled into Advanced Auto Parts to purchase some leak solvent, but Paul (a true professional) advised us that a solvent would not be advised for a ten hour trip home. He recommended without reservation Malabar Automotive and Mike to help us out. He highly praised their reliability, diligence, and, most of all, reputation for honesty. We took his advice and took it to Mike at Malabar Automotive. After waiting 15 minutes or so while he was working with another customer, Mike came and personally took our vehicle and drove it into the bay and examined under the hood and undercarriage. Keep in mind this was a Saturday and they were very busy at the time. Since he knew we were traveling and were from out of state I believe he went above and beyond to help us out. After diagnosing the problem, he went over what was necessary in the repair and even cut us a break on the labor. Due to parts not being available until the following Monday, Mike again went above and beyond and contacted Enterprise Rent A Car and got us a great rate on a rental vehicle. Our entire encounter with Mike was nothing short of professional, efficient, honest and satisfactory. I cannot rate this shop any higher. While you can't please everybody, take the bad review with a grain of salt. Mike was fantastic!
INCREDIBLY DI$HONEST AND INCOMPETENT! I told them I needed a sensor on the rear top of the engine (granted, hard to see) which was leaking excessive oil, mostly down the OUTside of bell housing with trace amounts inside bell housing. They declared it had to be the rear main $eal, ruling out one of the sensors immediately. I asked why there would be so much oil outside and not ANY straight down below the main, they declared it must be leaking from the top of the main and hitting the flywheel and $pinning out.... Once they ripped out the transmission, I was there to confirm the rear main seal was NOT leaking AT ALL, it was the camshaft sensor on top. I reluctantly agreed to have the rear main seal replaced, WITH the sensor since it was already opened up, and 175K miles. After paying an EXCE$$IVE amount to collect my truck I discovered not only did they, lie about where they bought the parts when I asked ...(I requested NOT from a discount store Advanced or Auto Zone).. but they also marked up the parts 120% ABOVE MY COST!! When I walked in days later to discuss this, he actually told me that’s how they make money, not through service as I then suggested. I am STILL waiting on the owners to contact me to attempt some remedy of this $ituation. Be Warned!!
