Repair/Service: timing belt and diagnose engine problem

We had our timing belt replaced 1000$, on our 2001 Jetta TDI, Months later we took the Jetta back to diagnose an engine problem, they charged 300 and fixed nothing. We the took the Jetta to a REAL mehcanic, who said the timing belt was placed incorrectly and that FRED diagnosed the engine problem incorrectly - it was actually a injection pump - VERY COMMON with TDI's - If you have a 67 microbus, maybe this garage is for you, but dont take modern car here, they obviously dont know what they are doing, and you will pay the price until you figure it out - 2 timing belts in one year is expensive
