Repair/Service: Engine (valve) work

Matthew, Kevin and JAC lied to me, did shoddy work and violated California regulations (as found by the BAR). I went to them on the basis of a family member's recommendation, but would warn anyone else to stay away. I am not a novice; I do most work myself on my cars. So I took what precautions I could (such as checking compression independently, asking specific questions, etc), but ultimately lost nearly $1000. I could write the story in detail, but this should be warning enough to anyone -- don't trust these guys.
