Repair/Service: Painted Car

Just the facts: I was told by Andy it would take a week to a week
and a half to paint my car. There were no major dents, no parts
needed to be ordered, just a few dings and some molding work.
After many
calls and no return calls, I got my car back 4 weeks later and no
explanation, except he had a staffing problem. My car rental for 30
days was $1,700, add that to the out of pocket cost for the paint job
of $2,000, I spent much more than my planned budget of $3000.
I had to return my car back to them a week later get some spots painted that
were missed and a few dings removed they missed. The surface of paint
looks like the skin of a orange.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
I called my credit card to
cancel payment. I called them to inform them and to let them know
how disappointed I was. After many words, I was
threatened with a team
of lawyers to take care of customers like me. I drove my car back to
them and showed them how I thought the finished
was lacking and there was way too much orange peel in the finish.
They basically said what do you want for a $2,000? I dont know about
you, but on my income $2000 is a lot of money. They told me they were
going to call the car rental place and get some of what I spent
returned, I havent heard anything yet. They did take my car back to complete
the touch up jobs and they did pay for the car rental during this time.
Once again they said it should only take 1 or 2 days. A week later I
called them and was told it should be done by the end of the day
and they will call me. 2 days later I called them and was told it would
be finished at the end of that day and to come over and pick it up.
I had an emergency and was unable to get there to pick up my car.
I went the next morning and still it was not ready, I had to wait
about 30 minutes. They did do most of
the work that was
needed, but still missed a dented area that was there since the start
and I spoke to them 2 times about it, and they still did not take care
of it, they just painted over it. Im a pastor in a local church and
Im not here to make anyone look bad with my opinions. Im here with
the facts to help anyone who is looking for a place to take their
car to for their car needs. Im stuck with what I have. I hope this
doesnt happen to you. By the way...I spoke
with to the car rental manager that Auri
said he called 2 times to make an effort
to get some of my cash refunded from
the car rental...The manager said he never
got a call from him or no message was ever
left indicating such
