Repair/Service: Boat work
Hourly Rate: $26
Total Cost: $592.60
Not sure Dan knows how to work on a boat. He put in a power steering pump and belt and had to come back because it was not fixed. He was very angry and rude and hung up on me when I asked him to come back. Now a week later, we were out on the boat and the belt broke because the power steering pump locked up because apparently Dan did not put power steering fluid in the pump. The engine over heated because the belt also runs the cooling system. So we had to get towed off the lake AGAIN. Lawn mower works after he fixed it the second time.

Repair/Service: Lawnmower repair
Hourly Rate: $26

I don't normally write reviews, but I guess all it takes is a bad experience. I'll preface this by saying this guy has repaired my same mower about 3 times in the past with no issues.
That said, about mid week I told him that i could pay him Friday after work. So Friday I called him about 5:30 and asked if I could pick it up in about :30-:45 minutes when I was halfway home. He said that would be fine, so I got home and called my ride to pick it up. As a gesture of courtesy, I called him to tell him I was on my way. No one answered the first 2 times and I missed his cell number which was on the recording. His wife answered and promptly said they were at dinner and he would call me back, she wasn't happy which was fine, even though I was calling the number that was given for a BUSINESS line. He finally called me back and was kind of livid, maybe about me calling 3 times, and told me I said that I would be getting there at 5:30-5:45. Now this is impossible as this is when I called him. I get off work at 5 and called halfway, there was no way I could have called him before then. So when i explained this, he was rather upset and said he didn't want to argue with me, and the next day would be better as he was having dinner and he had company. Then proceeded to get aggravated that I didn't just come over and asked why I would call when I had already told him I would come by. Well, obviously he was confused on the time I would be arriving, so it's good that I called, but he was pissed about it and I was just trying to be nice and let him know. So I apologized for the confusion and said the next day would be fine, then I don't know what happened, he accused me of being rude, told me to piss off and hung up. So I had to call him back and apologize for being rude, even though I wasn't at all. This interaction worried me about having my equipment in his care.
Even If I called during dinner and one too many times to confirm pick up, there was no reason for this to upset him, as he advertises himself as a business, and I only called the number he posted as his business number!
Long story short, the mower works, for some reason he was having a bad day and took it out on the customer. Very unprofessional, especially when I did nothing to deserve it. 2 years ago i would have recommended his service, but i will be unable to use him again and will use Lake Lawn Equipment from now on.by rudecustomer on July 28, 2012
