That would be $1300 + $143.
In 2005 I bought a used 2002 F-150 from Cloquet Ford Chrysler. I also purchased at the same time, an extended warranty for $1300. It is a great truck with no problems for the last 6 years until about a month ago. At that time I had a minor problem with the headlights. I took my truck in for evaluation and was told a module associated with the headlights needed to be replaced. I presented my extended warranty and was taken into an employees office and told it was WORTHLESS. This is the same warranty I purchased from Cloquet Ford Chrysler when I bought the truck.
I don't think for a minute it is the fault of Cloquet Ford Chrysler that the company underwriting the extended warranty went under, but neither is it my fault, and I purchased the warranty in good faith.
They didn't even suggest that they absorb some of the cost of the diagnosis or module. I paid the $143 and left without ordering the module. It would be easier for me to understand if my truck needed a new motor, but $143..... Come on!
