  • Repair/Service: Battery drain problem

    Hourly Rate: $125

    Total Cost: $1450.00

This guy Cal (real name Khaled W. Maadarani) is out of control. He doesn't give a proper estimate as required by Michigan law; doesn't give a final invoice as required by Michigan law. He gives little slips of paper for receipts. Why? He took my car 5 times, kept it for many days each time, and NEVER fixed the problem, but charged copious amounts of cash each time. He SURMISED the probelme was due to the security system and remote start system. He removed the $400 system and the problem persisted. When asked to replace the system, he refused. I'd call him a crook, but I'd hate to insult crooks!

  • Repair/Service: Rear Differential replacement

    Hourly Rate: $65

    Total Cost: $535.00

My car broke down over an hour away from my house. I felt very vulnerable because the towing back to my mechanic in Saline would have cost a fortune. Through a recommendation I called Cal's Auto Repair and they were able to tow, diagnose and repair my vehicle for a franction of the cost that I paid for the same problem 9 months ago at a place in Saline. I will never take my care anywhere else. Cal's had me back in my Jaguar in less than 48 hours. I highly recommend Cals!

Also worth mentioning is that Cal's Auto Repair has a large secured/fenced holding area as they also tow vehicles. This made me feel more secure in having to leave my car while waiting to decide what I would do about my vehicle. Cal's ROCKS!

  • Repair/Service: Radiator Flush Ect

    Hourly Rate: $50

    Total Cost: $50

my mother has been friends with cal for a good amount of time. even though we do not live near the area she takes her car there for everything. Cal knows how to do the Best Radiator Flushes ever, as simple as that may sound, most mechanic shops only suck out the old coolant and refill (work at a auto service and will admit to that). Cal actually FLUSHES the radiator and cleans it spotless of all the coolant and rust build up. ALSO she had a hole in her header, muffler shop wanted almost 300 for the fix, not replaced, Cal has the material and machines to do the repair, unlike where i am employed, all for a unbelievable price. All i can say is cal saves me a lot of time and money. He is the One to call when you are Broken down especially because they offer free towing if it is repaired at there shop. Most importantly, cal has a great employee named Issac that does a great job being careful with your car as he tows it. 5star shop

  • Repair/Service: Transmission Repair

    Hourly Rate: $72.14

    Total Cost: $505.00

I had my truck towed to Cal's Auto Tech, between 1-2:30 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012. On February 3, Saturday around 1:30 PM, a rep from Cal's Auto called to tell me that the transmission needed to be repaired. I called the shop Monday February 13 between 12-1:130 PM to tell them that I would be bringing a deposit on Friday, February 10. I took them $500 on February 10 , Invoice #13159, as a deposit. I was told them the car would be ready on Thursday, or Friday of the following week. I called on Thursday between 11-12:30 PM, I was told it would be ready on Saturday.

Today is Saturday, February 18, 4:17 PM. I arrived at Cal's Auto at 2:46 PM. I called before I left to walk to the repair shop and they said it would be ready. I paid $800, cash, Invoice #13159. After sitting in the waiting room until 3:42:PM, I was told that the mechanic was taking it out to test it. A few minutes later, I was handing the cell phone by the person at the front desk, and I was told that I could not take the car because it needs a "spindel." Without it I could not tell what gear the truck is in.I am not pleased. I have paid the full balance and I have no car. I was told by "Cal" that I had to wait until Monday. This was not the set date of delivery, and I would not have paid a repair shop in cash, if I was not going to get a truck as promised.

This is not acceptable. That type of issue with a part is something that a CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND REPAIR SHOP WOULD KNOW IMMEDIATELY!
