That person named "thatdudeinthez" above came with multiple issues from Gas Pedal sticking, rough idling, wanted Sp. Plugs replaced & had heating issues. We installed a Clutch, replaced Master & Slave Cylinder, Sp Plugs & a Rear Main Seal. A couple of days after delivery of vehicle, he was doing the loop in downtown York and he indicated that his clutch was acting up. He left car there and called us next day. I sent two Tech to get the car. It drove just the way it should, except that his Transmission had an issue, however, that is not what caused any stalling per him. Our examination reveled no problems, however, as a preventive we replaced the Slave Cylinder since those can cause the problems he described. A week later, he called again indicating the same problem. He dropped off car and upon examination we could duplicate no symptoms that he stated. I also had Tech from another Transmission garage check it to get another opinion and he said the same thing...has a Transmission issue but not able to duplicate the clutch issues that the customer describes. He picked up and again about a couple of weeks later he stated that he was having same problem. Suggested he bring again to check but he did not. About a month later, he called saying he was at a Transmission shop and they were able to identify the problem. That garage suggested the Master & Slave Cylinder be replaced. They also told him that the problem is the Parts, not anything in-correct done by our garage, as per the customer.Told him we have warranty and we will do the replacement for free. He did not bring back vehicle and had that garage do the replacement of Master & slave Cyl. He asked for the re-imbursement of parts. I told him technically the Parts suppliers are not going to give money back but I will talk to them. Got him the Money back and paid him by check. Upon receiving check, he told me that he understands that we did not do anything wrong and that the new parts were defective. I informed him that had I been able to duplicate the symptoms ( symptoms were sometimes ), I would have replaced them. Vendors do not give us replacement parts unless the symptoms are duplicated. We worked to try and address the problems, however, the symptoms were not happening all the time and the installation was not defective..as was confirmed by the other garage. The woman named "H.arrassed" above came to have a Trans Sensor replaced. Upon a Courtesy check, we found the vehicle unsafe to drive and pointed out all the things that need addressed for Repair & Maintenance. She authorized work and mentioned that she could pay $300 upon delivery and 5 days later the balance of above bill. A part that was needed from Suzuki did not arrive timely and she came back to have that fixed two days later. Suzuki had sent the wrong part. While she was at the garage she complained about her trunk not opening..we fixed that in her presence..it was a blown Fuse. Once we were told by Suzuki the correct part..which was a lot pricier..she declined work since it needed the whole Air Box to fix her problem ...not just the cylinder tubing into the Manifold ( that is the only way Suzuki sells that Part ). We informed her that if she does not fix it, her car will not ride smoothly since it is sucking in air from there. We also told her any work we have done is under warranty from us, as stated on her invoice. The day I was suppose to deposit the check, I called her as a courtesy to get her O.K. to deposit. She would not answer or pick up and hang-up. I went to her Bank to see if there were adequate funds in her account. Bank said there are not adequate funds to cover the check given to me. Called her again, and she would do the same of not answering or hanging up. A couple of days later she dropped off a cheque for $50 and said she will pay the balance since she has the funds as per the note she dropped off with that $50 cheque. It has been almost a month and she does not answer calls or stop by and address the issue. Even offered her in a message to work with her, in case of financial difficulties...no response. The person named " G " above who states a cock & bull story does not exist. Seems like someone trying to malign our Business. I have been running businesses for 30 years and if anyone would do something as nonsensical as above, that business would have been reported to some authorities. Never have received any paperwork or complaint from any organization or BBB to-date. Owner of Automotive Works, York, PA
DO NOT GO HERE! What was originally $65 ended up being over $1500. The repairs weren't even complete. In fact, my car was more dangerous than when I took it in. They also caused additional problems to my vehicle. What makes it worse it that I live within a mile of the owner and he constantly was knocking on my door and he calls non-stop. Stay away!
I am VERY unsatisfied with this garage. I've had some repairs done to my Honda about a year ago, no problems. Simple fix though. Now I currently have a Nissan, so I thought what the heck, I'll go through them, BAD DECISION! Got ripped off on the price first off, according to another professional. I had a new clutch put in and about a minute down the road something was wrong! He had accused me of driving it recklessly, only because I'm younger, I know this. Mechanic told me there was nothing wrong! Impossible. Told them to look at it. This time they tell me my transmission is done for and they need to drop it to look at it. I have not took any step further, and I believe theyre trying to rip me off! Dont go there bottomline
The owner of this shop is the most unprofessional person I have every met. Told me one price and when I picked up my car the price was double. Argued with him to no end and finally got fed up. He wouldn't give me my car back till I paid so I paid, went down the road and the brakes started making a horrible sound. Took it back and he wanted to charge me to look at it!!! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB
