Alliance Heritage Auto Services

This is a follow-up to my review on this business posted on February 20, 2012. Recently, Scott Throneberry, the owner of Alliance Heritage Auto Services, called me about the negative review I gave his business. Scott was deeply concerned about the service I had received and after we discussed the problem he acknowledged that my complaint about the work done on my CV axle boot was valid. He also stated that his staff had not handled my complaint to his standards of customer service, and that he would rectify this. Scott was a little distressed that I had not brought this problem to his attention before posting a negative review. A valid point. He reimbursed me for the axle I had to replace, and offered a discount off my next service. I appreciated Scott's sincere committment to customer satisfaction. I will return to this business again, when the need arises, with the full confidence of knowing that a person of Scott's character is in charge.

Beware! Shoddy workmanship and unprofessional! The absolute worst repair shop I've ever been to! I took a Toyota here to have a front wheel bearing replaced. The mechanic also replaced the axle's CV boot clamp. The mechanic did not properly secure the new clamp and the boot eventually slipped off the end of the axle causing all of the axle grease to spew out. The loss of axle grease destroyed the CV joint - it was making a horrible clanking noise. I replaced the entire axle myself before it broke off and destroyed the transmission. I called the manager, Jeff, and explained what had happened. I was fully expecting him, like any reputable businessman would be, to be concerned about the poor work of his employee and reimburse me for the axle. Instead of being concerned Jeff became angry and said he would not pay for anything. The excuse he gave for not paying is that they “normally do not replace CV boot clamps”. He said his mechanic had just done it as a favor and that I should have appreciated that he replaced it! What the (bleep)!!! Really! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Why in the world would I be grateful to someone that cost me time, aggravation and money to fix a problem that they caused? If they would have told me up-front they were not properly qualified to do the repairs I would have taken the car elsewhere. Also, I did not get the 30% discount they had advertised for first time customers. Labor plus parts cost me $359 to have them do the repairs, plus I had to pay an additional $67 for a new axle that I didn't need before they worked on it. I did some calling around to other (professional) shops and they quoted me $375 for the same repair. I sure didn't get any 30% discount. I was tempted to go to small claims court over this but it is not worth my time, effort and expense to recover $67. The best thing for me to do is warn others about this wretched place. I have never had such a horrible experience with a business in my life (I'm 56 years old and have been around for awhile). A grossly incompetent and unprofessional business like this needs to pack-up and close their doors; the sooner the better. My advice is to stay away from this place!
