1985 Buick Electra Park Avenue 6Cyl3.8L - Preventive Maintenance
what wrong with my vehicle
I have a 1985 Buick Electra park avenue v6 3.8l that has been sitting for about six years and it starts but after a few seconds it kills or it kills when ever I press the accelerator. We put new gas, a new car battery ,and a new fuel filter. but we still don't know what it is.

If its sat that long, your fuel tank, lines, and carb/injectors probably got dirt/water/moisture in them.Probably a good idea to at least change the spark plugs too.Unhook line on front/engine side of fuel filter, hook hoses to filter nipple so you can put a bucket for gas to drain into.Have someone cycle the key on for a few seconds at a time so you can see how much dirt/moisture is in the tank.Be careful cause there may be quite a bit of fuel pressure
