Need more information - is the sound localized; from either front or rear, either left or right sides? At waht speeds does the noise occur? Under what road conditions; smooth or rough roads?

sound is more middle to slightly in front of drivers seat. it is very intermittent, as it may not happen for 20 minutes and then may occur for a few seconds and then not again for several minutes while driving down the road. it occurs at both low and high speeds, but has different pitches depending upon the speed. road condition does not matter. oil and transmission fluid levels are ok. it does have slight fluid leak of some sort.
