2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT 8Cyl5.3L - Engine
why wont the vehicle start when i turn the ignition switch on?
130k+ miles- new battery, has a good charge, no clicking sounds, nothing happens. it started & ran, & i drove10 miles; it sat for 4-5 hours, started & ran again, & i drove 5 miles to a gas station to fill-up. it then wouldn't start. was towed home, & sat for 2-3 days, then it started, & it ran, ideling for 10 minutes. 4-5 hours later wouldn't start. i checked all the fuses in the engine compartment fuse box, all were fine. ???? what do i check next, here at home, without a code reader?

You may have a bad starter. When it fails to start, go to the starter with a 12 volt test light and see if there is 12 volts present at the small wire going to the starter solenoid when the key is turned to CRANK. The test lamp should illuminate during CRANK. If it does and the starter does not function, replace the starter.
