What causes my truck to not start when the engine is warm?

If I drive my truck long enough for it to get hot and shut the engine off it does not start right back up I have to let it cool down before starting again.

  By statement, get hot. I assume you mean normal operating tempreature & not over heating?
  If so & it sounds hard to start, check engine timing.
  Do a starter draw test.
