2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty Lariat 8Cyl6.0L - Engine

My truck will not shut off after the key is turned off. The repair manual points to the EGR system. Where do i start?

Is there a part that is the common cause of the problem? After hooking up my OBD2, KOEO option choosen the EGR symbol flashes, KOER, there are no faults showing. Any help is appreciated prior to having to take my unit to a dealer. :) David Unrau

  The EGR has not =-a to do with truck turning off..... Does it keep running like going down the road, or is it just trying
  to die, and just keeps popping and chugging?????
  If it won't turn off at all, that is in your ignition switch where the key goes in , about the only way to kill it is to remove
  the neg, battery cable very carefully.

  Sounds like a carbon build-up in cylinders or a timing problem.
