2006 GMC Sierra Denali Base 8Cyl6.0L - Transmissions & Drivetrains
tranny problems at 1500-1600 rpm's AWD
when I am traveling at any given speed where the truck rpm's are around 1500-1600 the tranny shimmies and vibrates alot. I have 7000 on a factory rebuilt tranny.40,000 on truck. I am thinking that the torque converter is screwing up. The closest comparision I can give is like when you have a bad throw out bearing in a standard transmission and the shimming feeling it gets just as the clutch engages, just mine keeps doing it until you give it gas and raise the rpms or left off the gas.It shacks quite a bit.kinda like you are driving down a set of railroad tracks on the ties at 10 miles an hour.I hope this gives you an idea of what I mean. Thanks Tony 518-376-9218

COuld be something with the rebuilt, amazed that trani went so early? you could check the driveshaft also if that is out of balance you can get a vibration. Who installed the rebuilt?

Dealer did all work.I would think if the driveshaft was out of balance it would be speed affected not rpm.it happpens at 1500-1600 rpms no matter waht speed I am at.Luckily it has 4.10's in it,so it is around 2000-2100 RPM's at highway speeds.
