1987 Honda Civic Si 4Cyl1.5L - Engine

had the timing belt replaced in oct. 09 but did not have the water pump ...

replaced. Now that has gone out and is in need of replacment. Can I do this, with the proper tools of course. I do know that the water pump, on this engine type powers the timing belt.

  Yes, you can do this with the proper tools. The timing belt turns the water pump. Make sure you use a repair manual with step by step with pictures. ALLDATADIY.com is terrific for $26 online.

  If the water pump is leaking, it may have contaminated the new belt. Make sure you check the belt.
