is my timing belt broken?
my car shuddered and died running down the street. i removed my distributor cap and turned the motor but my rotor stays in one position. i have replaced the distributor two times before and thought that it had gone bad again, but now someone tells me that it is most likely the timing belt. i cannot turn the rotor by hand.

CVO 2/4/2013The timing is broken and it is not an interference engine application. See this for the timing belt repair.
