Syncros or Clutch? Look at the description please. Delayed engage into 3rd gear
I am feeling what is best described as slippage or delayed engage when I shift into 3rd gear and release the clutch when accelerating. There are 2 things happening. The clutch pedal grabs into 3rd gear higher on the pedal than other gears. Also, when I am attempting to bring the car up to highway speeds, the car feels that it is still engaging into the 3rd gear after I have taken my foot off the clutch pedal. Other gears do engage firmly without hesitation. I also do have a slow front shaft seal trans leak, so occasionally have to top off the trans fluid which I can/have done myself.

Clutch seems to be slipping. That is why you get that wierd feeling in third. One of the best tests for a slipping clutch is to shift through the gears after takeoff and get to 3rd or 4th sooner than you normally would, say 20 or 25 mph and then with safety of course, floor the gas pedal with your foot all the way off the clutch pedal.. A good clutch will not let the engine rev up and slip the clutch disc. A bad clutch will allow the engine to overpower the hold resistance of the disc.

This vehicle has a manual transmission. I think Joe though it was an automatic.
