1997 Chevrolet K1500 Suburban LT 8Cyl5.7L - Steering & Suspension
Why does my Steering wheel "shimmey" at low speed?
At low speeds my steering wheel shimmeys or shakes as well as when slowing down hill. My Suburban has 258K miles on it. I regularly rotate my tires (every five thousand miles) and didn't notice it until I had put about ten thousand miles on a set of General Grabber HTS.

It is possible that a steering linkage component is loose or defective and needs to be replaced. Also check if your tire and wheels are balance, tire pressure is correct and check if the suspension components are still in good condition.
