  The simple answer is; yes - it could be either one. The best approach would be to go ahead and remove the starter and match it up - so you can get a direct replacement.
  Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.autopartswarehouse.com or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the starter from around $71.00 - for a new unit (not remanufactured / rebuilt) for your vehicle.
