2002 Chevrolet Impala Base 6Cyl3.4L - Engine

starter has been replaced but the car will not start

The starter will not turn over with the switch, but i can short it out and crank the engine. When the car starts though, it only runs for about 4 seconds.

  Any applicable trouble codes? Maybe a problem with security system? There is a relearn procedure, the one I was looking at takes thirty minutes. Seems like when I try to post procedure, the site cuts me off. I guess I timed-out?
