Why would starter continue to spin when ignition switch is not connected??
Repaced original starter. When battery cable was reconnected and without key in the ignition the starter tried to crank the engine. Verified starter is connected properly and again the starter spins when the battery is connected and the ignition switch is not even on the vehicle.

CVO 1/18/2011The solenoid got stuck and it spun the starter. Local auto parts stores will test your starter for free.
