Use a gage and check fuel pressure, for a start.

Security system would'nt effect fuel pressure. It could effect injectors. What's the matter Housecall, slow night for you. Can't find any unanswered questions to answer? You ain't much are you?

Yo jdl, I can tell you have no formal automotive training by your ridiculous answer below, Let me put it in quotes so it's clear...

"Security system would'nt effect fuel pressure. It could effect injectors." - jdl answer

The number one cause of a start and stall on a 98 GM truck is a bad Passlock sensor. A bad Passlock sensor is identified almost every time by a start and stall symptom. When the passlock sensor goes bad it shuts down injector pulse at the fuel injectors immediately after a startup and wiill repeat over and over. So jdl, that being said. An apology should be forthcoming from you or else get off this forum. It sounds like you beat me to the beer tonight.

You idiot, there is an oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit. There will be fuel pressure even without an rpm signal. Housecall you sound like a pussy to me. Have I got that about right? Put some vaseline on that apology and I will tell you where to stick it. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I got to admit I had a couple of beers, but, your still a pussy.

Housecall is just rude to people. Ask around. I don't mind other opinions as long as they are not rude. Housecall has been rude to people for a long time. If I'm the only one with enough courage to say something, then I will.

I apologize to you Rick. I did say some things, I shouldn't have said. If I could erase it, I would. I shouldn't have said that on a public forum. My apologies to housecall for not talking to him by private e-mail.

Jdl, I just signed on now and read your additions. Not looking to get into it with anybody, but last night you attacked me with some gibberish about not going after unanswered questions and then the ” you ain’t much” comment. Why, I have no idea. The thread that I made a comment on was not a challenge to your answer; it was in addition to your answer. I did not say your answer was wrong or anything. When a person with a GM vehicle says it starts and stalls the first thing I always ask is if the security light was on (bad passlock sensor causes a start and stall) which was my question. Why you couldn’t acknowledge that my question was relevant to the thread I don’t know and instead at that point you were in some “mood’ to attack me for no reason and then proceed to say I mouth off to people which I have never done. I may have been adamant about an added comment with some people but rude and mouthing off, no. If someone puts a wrong answer I do find it necessary sometimes to provide the right answer when I know I am right, but I do it tactfully. I don’t want the car owner to be following a useless road to a fix. So, bottom line is I’m not your enemy and I do suspect that some “beyond your control influences” were at work with your comments and I am pretending (sort of, lol) that it didn’t happen. I’m at peace if you want the same.
