my speedometer only went up to 25mph the other morning but now seems to be working great is that a sensor problem

  Nope, you have a bad instrument panel cluster. Ask the local GM dealer to "goodwill" the job to you. There is no recall but I hear that they are fixing a ton of them for people very cheap like $250. Kind of an unannounced campaign to try to right a wrong. They know they messed up with the electronic failures of clusters on GM trucks.

  Mine stoped working too, wouldn't that be a safty hazard. I don't have $250 to fix it

  MIne did the same thing at least on two different occassions and then one day it just started to work (for now)
