What would cause it to just shut off like it ran out of gas..

1999 Cadillac Escalade Base 8Cyl5.7L - Engine

What would cause it to just shut off like it ran out of gas but then it will start rite back up maybe fuel pressure

It seems as if it does have rite fuel pressure cause I can take the fuel cap off and then it doesn't do it
