P0606 means ECM/PCM Processor Fault. P0606 occurs when the computer senses an internal fault in the vehicle's PCM. A sophisticated scanner is required to analyze the stored freeze-frame data, and the repair should be performed at a shop with that equipment.

      Possible Causes:

      Defective ECM/PCM

      Possible Solutions:
      Replace and reprogram the PCM

Check to see if the brake lights come on when pressing on the pedal, then youll know if its the brake switch or not. they are mounted by the top of the pedal. you may have to bent your way under the dash to see it.

After parking there for a while, I can hear a single clicking noise when gear shifting from 1 up to 2.
Every morning, I start my car, remove parking brake, change gear "P" to gear "R", and back the car; and then change the gear "R" to "D", then slowly speed up; when the gear shifts from 1 to 2, I can always hear a clicking noise. But during the driving, I stop, and ...

When ever my car shifts gears, it makes a screeching sound.
When i start driving and getting up to speed on the road, i hear a screeching sound every time it shifts and I'm getting concerned because its happening more often now. No lights are on for check engine or anything.

Odd sounds coming from your car can be an early sign that something is wrong with you vehicle. Get your vehicle checked by a professional immediately. At the same time, you should get your oil and engine checked.

it could be but it could also be bad bearings in the water pump or timing belt tensioner. i replace them while doing the timing belt it could be something rubbing on your new timing belt.

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is mounted on the exterior housing of the transmission - on the output shaft.
Check the various on-line vendors; www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.RockAuto.com, www.partsgeek.com, to list only a few. For example, they (RockAuto) list the speed sensor from around $58.00 for your vehicle.

The (VSS) vehicle speed sensor is located on the top of the transaxle (exterior) housing and can be identified by the blue wire and the yellow wire connected to it. There is no magnetic pick-up, but a speed sensor - one bolt to remove the sensor.

These same websites also show photos of the sensor - and its mounting bracket on the exterior of the transmission.

Loud clunking noise when shifting to reverse

check the engines rpm at that time, it may be a little high, check if there is any computer up grade flashes for shift ability, check for any wear in the drive line mounts etc.

If the fluid level is OK; still slips / does not engage - then no easy fix. Most likely the transmission bands / friction surfaces are worn and need replacement. This means either a transmission overhaul / rebuild or replacement.

Check the various on-line vendors; www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.RockAuto.com, www.partsgeek.com, to list only a few. For example, they (RockAuto) list the transmission rebuild kit from around $68.00 for your vehicle.
