What type of spring bumper do I use with a KYB KYSM5175 strut mount and boot assembly?
I've got a 1999 Toyota Camry (4 cylinder) that needs the struts replaced. I got all of the parts that I need to assemble the struts, I thought, but I can't figure out how the boot and spring bumper go together. I purchased the KYSM5175 rear strut mount from KYB with ...

Basically, strut assembly consist of a spring, strut mount, spring bumper & dust boot and upper and lower spring seat or cushion. To disassemble you need to compress the spring, loosen the nut that holds the strut mount. Remove strut mount followed by dust boot & bumper, spring along w/ upper/lower seat. To assemble will be the reverse. The strut is installed as a unit. This a dangerous procedure, a compressed and loaded spring is a safety hazard. Recommend that a experienced and professional mechanic do this procedure. Safety is always your priority.

Usually, the imbalance is due to several possibilities; incorrect static balance, incorrect dynamic balance, bent rim, tire tread separated. If everything else checks OK, then you may consider to offer a price for the vehicle and offset (discount) by the amount required to repair the imbalance issue - keep in mind this may require an entire new set of wheels and tires - possibly several thousand dollars.

I have a handicap scooter lift installed on the rear of my Camry but the car bottoms out. How can I raise the rear end?
Is there a kit or air springs I can use, maybe coil spring extenders or something like that? Any ideas how to modify the rear end so it is raised about 4 inches more off the ground? Anything I find by google says it will not work on my vehicle HELP PLEASE!

The best thing is to change the rear shocks with the air shocks that way you can pump air and raise the rear of your vehicle 3-5 inches.

Just change the lift and get one that's designed for cars and comes with all the specifications you need. the problem is, you can't find one that will modify the scooter lift because that's how it is designed.

Check the idle air control valve. Carbon deposits obstructed the air passages and that is the cause of the car stars to tremble.

Loud repeating knock sound and virbation after rpm reach about 2000+

Check the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website for steps to inspect and determine the front wheel for the source of the noise / looseness and play. Usually, this would be the first step and involves raising the front end of the vehicle off the ground to suspend the front wheels - be sure to use jack stands to support the vehicle.

Several possibilities; worn / faulty CV (constant velocity) jiont and halfshaft assembly, worn / faulty wheel / hub bearing. Check the many on-line parts sources;such as www.RockAuto.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, or www.autopartsfair.com. For example, they (RockAuto) list the front axle assembly from around $39.00, and the wheel / hub bearing assembly from around $10.00 for your vehicle. Usually, the front axle assemblies and wheel bearings are replaced in pairs (both sides) due to the mileage / age / wear considerations.

Most likely the issue is caused by clogged / kinked pressure or return hoses. Check the fluid flow to and from the steering pump - and as necessary, replace the steering hoses as a set (both the pressure and return hoses) due to mileage / age wear considerations.
The issue may also be related to dirt / contamination inside the system, or a faulty steering rack and pinion unit. Try the flush and refill as the initial step to repair, then replace the hoses.
Check the many different on-line auto parts sources; such as - www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.partsgeek.com and www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (Rock Auto) list the steering pressure hose from around $65.00 for your vehicle.

Does this model require changing the timing Belt at 90,000 miles?
My mechanic tells me it has no timing belt but the Toyota maintenance indicates that it does.

No timing belt on the 1.8L engine - this model has a timing chain, with no recommended replacement intervals like the timing belt has.

Thank you so much for the feedback. It is very much appreciated. Would you know why the coils and serpentine belt would have to be changed twice in less than one year?

Why does my steering wheel shake so much when I'm driving 50-60mph?
I ran my car into a curb (at about 20-30mph) - heard a loud thump. No damage to the hood or car, but the tire is somewhat separated from the rim on the front left tire.

How hard and how much to replace front left ball joint? Is it necessary to replace it ASAP or can it be delayed a littl
It is making a clicking sound when I turn. Also audible while on the freeway.

The front lower ball joint is a bolt-in unit. Once the wheel and tie rod is removed, then the spindle is separated - the ball joint is simply unbolted and the new one installed. Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.autopartswarehouse.com or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the front lower ball joint from around $33.00 for your vehicle.
