2/8/2013 Joe BoulayHello
That is a strange one, I guess that I would check to make sure that the steering rack is securely tight in its mounts. All suspension components are tight?

2/14/2013 frsukartoHi Joe, thanks for the reply. Yes, I took the car back after a month and the mechanic found nothing wrong with the steering rack. I just had the shocks & struts replaced too 6 months before that, so suspension components are up-to-date. Do you think it has something to do with the front axle?

Had belts and cv joints and exsuast replace 3 months ago. Car squeals when started and squeals when driving and turningGmot93 - 1997 Subaru Legacy - Steering & Suspension - 1/7/2013Wheel left or right even after car is warmed up it continues to squeal tried belt dressing still kept squealing has plenty of steering fluid could the pump be going or bad tension pulley?-
1/7/2013 Joe BoulayHello
Did you re check the belt tension? Sometimes a new belt will stretch and will make it loose, and then it may squeal. Most times spraying anything on a belt may make matters worse. hope this helps.

1/7/2013 rickYes . It sound like the power steering pump is going out . A sign is when sitting still or moving slow the steering wheel is hard to turn . If you rev the motor up and it turns a little more easy then it's because the pump is turning faster . Just shows the pump is getting weak . A good pump will make it steer easy with low or high RPM's

Any ideas as to why my engine squeals when I turn left? I'm wondering if its the belt or worse, like the steering pump.blueraja - 2003 Subaru Outback - Steering & Suspension - 12/29/2012The squealing noise only happens when turning left. My car has 123,xxx miles and I believe the right cv joint needs to be replaced as well. The squealing only happens when turning left.-
12/29/2012 Joe BoulayTo start with would check your power steering belt tension. Sounds like a loose or worn belt.
Hope this helps
