I have this weird sound coming from my front end left passenger side.muynaudi - 2005 Scion xB - Steering & Suspension - 3/16/2012When I drive you hear this rubbing grinding sound near my left front tire. The weird part is it stops when I turn my steering to the left. I checked to see if it's rubbing on anything but it's not. What could it be?-

Humming sound goes away when turning leftMIchael Smith - 2006 Scion tC - Steering & Suspension - 5/20/2011Currently my car has a speed sensitive humming noise that seems to be coming from the front left tire. It does go away when turning left only. Any help on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.-
sounds like a bad wheel bearing jack the front end of the car up and spin the wheel with ur hands even check it for play but i am sure its going to be a wheel bearing
5/19/2011 MIchael SmithI have jacked up the car and while spinning the left tire it has a soft metal on metal sound. Similar to sound when your brakes are rubbing but only had it on that tire

yes if you feel it or hear it on driver side it most likely is if u jack it up and spin tire with ur hands u should feel it binding or it will feel ruff when spinning it

Has broken 2 power steering belts in 4 weeksCurt - 2005 Scion xB - Steering & Suspension - 1/2/2011pump shaft has about 3/16 in end play.....is this too much and a potential cause for belt breakage?

1/2/2011 BillLook at belts carefully and see if any smooth glazing on belt and if a break or a tear. You could have a pulley freezing up sporadically getting ready to go out.
