It is normally the motor switch which brakes first, try another good swithch.

The springs that cause the fuel door to open break frequently... I would find a decent spring in a junk yard or just get one from a saturn dealer. Then to open the door I would tape the end of a screw driver (to avoid scratches) and gently pry it open while someone else holds the switch up on the inside.

I used a wire to unplug it , only to have it back up again. I eventually cut the "duck bill" end off, leaving a stub that works fine. I am sure the design was to keep dirt and bugs out, but that was what kept plugging up all the time.

Anthony, try turning the cigarette lighter counterclockwise, to, remove is from the console. make sure once you do, that all the wiring is properly connected and if so run to Autozone, they have a direct replacement for it. yes even with the lamp to see it at night.

Yes. Saturn is known for interchangable parts. i have owned very few cars but I always noticed that these type of cars are very easy to get used parts for. Example, your windows, will fit from 1990-1996. the motor, 1989-2002 as with the trans. good luck.

Make sure you try and open it from the inside. these cars have child safety locks, and are easy to turn on.if this does not work, removal of the door handle, will be the solution. it is possible that the latch rod has released from the catch hook mechanism. unfortunatly, all these retainers holding the rods are plastic, this plastic may be your problem.

There are little rods that connect the handles to the lock mechanism. It's possible (but unlikely) that those rods are bent. Pop the door skin off and check. Another possibility is that the striker has loosened and moved (much more likely) or that the lock mechanism itself is gummed up with dirt/debris and not fully disengaging (happens all the time).

remove all the panel screws, the arm rest, the door handle and lock handle a needed. gentle pry outward with flat tool like a putty knife. disconnect electrical connections when they are exposed.
