There are plastic "hooks" that are supposed to hold the tumbler in place after being pushed past these hooks - the hooks are too small and break off. It isn't too hard of a fix, just need to wire the trip tumbler down. The main odometer is held in by the same type of hooks, but they are much bigger and less prone to breakage.

And most often the cause is a bad turn signal switch, however, in a small % of cases, the hazard switch (which is the turn signal flasher also) is the cause.

most likely the actuator for the duct door. It is either the control itself, or it is the acctuator. the actuator is a little motor that moves teh door to direct which vents the air comes out of.

I believe that the cause will be found in the main fuse panel under-hood. Check all large fuses first, something tells me at least one of them is open and if you are sure they are all good then my suspicion goes to the ignition switch which feeds power to the main fuse panel under-hood. See if the large fuses have power when you check them. Use a 12 volt test lamp to check.

    Clicking coming from glove compartment

The foam is a filter for your cabin air. It could just be put in a little off so the cover does not close properly.

      1. Test the Dark Blue wire, Gray wire, Purple wire at the windshield wiper motor connector with a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM).

      2. The voltage should stay near 0 V with the windshield wiper switch OFF.

      3. If the windshield wiper switch voltages are 0 V and the windshield wipers come on, replace the windshield wiper module.

      4. If voltage is present on any of the three circuits, disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector, recheck voltages.

      5. If the voltage is still there, check wire for a short to 12 V and if OK, replace the windshield wiper switch.

      6. If the voltage is not present with the windshield wiper module disconnected, then replace the windshield wiper module. The windshield wiper module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover.

Why do I have a clicking noise in my dash ?

You have a defective turn signal switch. This is a well known pattern failure on Grand Am. It is a somewhat tedious job and not for a DIY.

The blower motor resistor needs replacement. It is attached to the HVAC housing not far from the blower motor. Buy the part and then look for it under the dash. What are you referring to "the climate control speed" ?
