Hope you didn't damage the rack&pinion? Did you change out the old power steering fluid? Usually you can remove serpentine belt, remove return line from power steering pump. Aim the line into proper container, Turn power steering pulley by hand, It should pump fluid out the return line, Keep adding fluid to reservoir as it runs down. When the fluid coming out return line turns clean, your done.

I don't think it is safe to drive without power steering, You would have to strong arm the steering wheel in sharp turns. I'm not saying you can't do it,but, I can't be responsible for your safety. Safety is your responsibility.

I've seen faulty shocks cause this. The most recent was a rear shock on a different GM vehicle. Also, you might try rotating the tires, see if it helps?

When turning the wheel, there is no resistance when making a left turn. What could be the problem?
Going on turns on bumpy roads makes the car jerk really easily to the left when turning on a curve. Feels kinda unsafe driving especially if i have to drive on the highway

I would check the adjustment of the belt on the power steering pump. Could be loose and when force is needed it might slip if not tight enough.

If this is only happening in one direction (you didn't say) then you have a bad rack and pinion. If it happens in both left and right turns then there may be a problem with the EVO (electronic variable orifice) which is a valve that is regulated by the ECM to reduce power steering oil flow to give an increased road feel at higher speeds.

The cost to repair depends on the parts and labor needed. First step - raise the hood and inspect the power steering hoses - both pressure and return, as well as the power steering pump - for leaks.

Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.partsgeek.com, www.carpartswarehouse.com, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the power steering pressure hose from around $25.70 and the return hose from around $10.30 for your vehicle. Remember always replace the steering hoses in pairs due to mileage / age / wear considerations.

Several possibilities; upper strut or shock mounts worn, faulty / worn sway arm bushings, front or rear stabilizer end link bushings worn. Use the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website to inspect for suspension noises and issues.
Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.partsgeek.com, www.carpartswarehouse.com, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts.
