Why does my 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue make a loud, low, rumbling sound when stopped while in Drive???
The car does not make this sound as soon as i let off the break or while it's in other gears, such as Park, Reverse, or Neutral...(not sure about 1st or 2nd gear) I know that the cars exhaust is in need of a couple repairs, but this noise only seems to happen when ...

I have a loud almost roaring noise coming from my front end so I replaced both hub bearings thinking that was the
Problem because my ABS light is on but the sound is still there! Looking for some insight on what else could be causing the noise at the front end? Thanks!

When turning the wheel, there is no resistance when making a left turn. What could be the problem?
Going on turns on bumpy roads makes the car jerk really easily to the left when turning on a curve. Feels kinda unsafe driving especially if i have to drive on the highway

I would check the adjustment of the belt on the power steering pump. Could be loose and when force is needed it might slip if not tight enough.

If this is only happening in one direction (you didn't say) then you have a bad rack and pinion. If it happens in both left and right turns then there may be a problem with the EVO (electronic variable orifice) which is a valve that is regulated by the ECM to reduce power steering oil flow to give an increased road feel at higher speeds.

The cost to repair depends on the parts and labor needed. First step - raise the hood and inspect the power steering hoses - both pressure and return, as well as the power steering pump - for leaks.

Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.partsgeek.com, www.carpartswarehouse.com, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the power steering pressure hose from around $25.70 and the return hose from around $10.30 for your vehicle. Remember always replace the steering hoses in pairs due to mileage / age / wear considerations.

Several possibilities; upper strut or shock mounts worn, faulty / worn sway arm bushings, front or rear stabilizer end link bushings worn. Use the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website to inspect for suspension noises and issues.

My steering wheel locked up. My gage started moving all the way up to hot. My battery light came on all at once. Why?!
The car is old but I do not drive it too much. It is now undriveable because of the overheating and locked wheel.

This just happened to my car, and after 3 serpentine belts replaced I learned that the harmonic balancer wasn't doing its job which is located under where the serpentine belt goes. This madness leads to the water pump not functioning which over heats the car. Then to top it off the power steering becomes manual steering like a big old truck. So, what I have learned is find the person who knows olds and can pinpoint the problem quickly then replace the harmonic balancer? This is where I am at right now...Good luck

Should I also replace the constant volicety drive axels when I replace the wheel hubs?
160,000 miles on orginal hubs and cv joints. Car will make a clunk suond when moving from a stoped position and the ABS - Traction Control light will come on and disable the ABS.

If the CV halfshafts (axle assemblies) have not been replaced - and they are the source of some of the noise or they have excess play / wear on the bearing surfaces - then go ahead and replace them.
For the replacement parts, try the many on-line parts sources, such as; www.autopartswarehouse.com or www.rockauto.com - to list only two. For example, they (RockAuto) list the front hub bearing assembly from around $35.00 each, and the CV drive axles from around $40.00 each for your vehicle.

Where the shocks / struts installed the equivalent to the original (OEM) ride quality? For example, the Monroe # 71831 (rear) and the Monroe # 73305 (front) will give the same ride as original.

Also, be sure the strut mounts - both front and rear are in good shape. These should have been replaced when the new struts were installed - if the mounts were worn or loose / faulty.

Every time i start the car it reads low tire pressure, all at 34 how do i check wheel sensors, abs on as well.
ABS, traction control, and low tire pressure on together, would these all point to a wheel sensor, how can I check them with a multi meter?

Why does the front end of my car thump and bounce when driving?
106000 miles on vehicle. When accelerating, the front end thumps (like riding on a square tire) and I can feel it through the floor board. It does not squeal, although it does pull to the right. Started doing it a couple of weeks ago, seems to occur when the car ...

Need more information - where does the sound originate from? Left or right sides? Front or rear? Does the sound change with engine or vehicle speed? Try the 'Diagnose' feature on the AutoMD website to help describe the issue you are having for further assistance.

The knocking is in the front on the left or right can't tell custom it only makes the knocking while driving. I've been driving for a week and keeps getting louder. I'm really worried about it but can't afford to take it in. If I knew what it was I could buy the parts and have my dad install them. You told me to go to diagnose' area and it just asks for car make again.
