I have a 97' cutlass supreme and I am having a problem figuring out why my booster pin sticks so far inside the manifold
My booster pin sticks so far inside the brake booster manifold that I have to push the brakes, just to see the pin. As for the pin, I cannot figure out how to adjust it outwards, when there is no way of using a tool to do this? Any suggestions would be deeply ...

1 morning, after sitting all night, my brakes went to the floor and would barely stop the car. It had plenty of fluid.
I changed the master cylinder, front calipers and rear brake cylinders, bled the 2 ABS bleed valves and calipers and cylinders and still goes to the floor when brake pedal in pushed. No fluid leaks, checked at least 4 times

Master cylinder leaking is most likely the failure. possible wheel cylinder leaking but usually you get return from pedal just no pressure to the floor. Check you fluid level and make sure its not low. Some master cylinders leak and you will see it run down the vacuum booster, others leak internally.

What's wrong with my third brake light?
Third brake lite (rear windshield lite) will work the first time I hit the brake then stops working after i hold the brake for a while, at a stop light usually. It will then begin working again after setting overnight. I've checked the bulbs and they work fine.

Check the stop light switch on the brake pedal arm - underneath the instrument panel.

Several possibilities; loose rear brake shoe, faulty / missing brake shoe hold down spring (component in the brake hardware), loose brake component.
As a first step - raise and support the rear wheels (using jack stands) off the ground. Remove the right and left wheels and the brake drums for a thorough brake inspection.

Why do I have a spongy brake pedal?
I just purchased this Olds sihlouette van with 119k miles about a week ago. The break pedal basically goes to floor. I've driven it up and down the road...the brakes do work...just not the best. As soon as u start vehicle the brake have a real spongy feel. It ...

If the brake fluid level is OK, then suspect / check these possibilities - brake system fluid leak (front caliper flexible hoses), faulty brake master cylinder, faulty power booster unit, leaking vacuum hose to the power booster unit, faulty vacuum check valve at the brake booster.

The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the master cylinder from around $59.00, the check valve from around $15.00, and the power booster unit from around $96.00 for your vehicle.

Brake issues with a 98 intrigue

Sounds like a bad master cylinder. Check for leaks around the master and ABS hydraulic unit. Check for fluid inside the brake power booster also. You likely have a seal leaking on the master cylinder or an internal leak in the master or ABS module. Pull the vacuum check valve on the booster to check for fluid inside. You can try bleeding the master cylinder to see if it is pushing fluid. You could also have a stuck valve in the ABS module.

Replaced rear pads, when I pressed emergency brake in, in order to tighten wheel lugs, the tire didn't stop.
It also acts like it needs to be bled when I apply the brakes, a big swoosh noise comes from the pedal and I have to press it to floor to stop. Any Ideas?

The rear caliper piston actuator lever has to be indexed so that it has the shortest amount of movement to make pads stop the rotor. Otherwise the pedal travel will be too far because it is using all the pedal travel to move the piston out too far. Keep in mind that one inch of pedal travel equals about an 1/8" of piston movement or something like that, so if the brake pad is like 3/16" away from the surface of the rotor at the inner and outer pad, that translates to 3 inches of pedal movement...

I should also add that when I went to compress my rear drivers side piston I turned it the wrong way and it became very loose. I screwed it back into place and all was well. While driving and trying to reset brake position I heard a loud spraying noise coming from my rear passenger side though no fluid appeared on the ground?

    Soft pedal, slow pedal
Soft pedal...goes down to 3/4s of the way down and then it seems like you have to press harder to stop the vehicle...
