I have a moldy AC evaporator, probably resulting from an improperly installed cabin filter together with short trips
driver and passengers experience allergic reactions. I have tried spraying LYSOL into the AC outside intake and into the AC vents. I also tried the "foaming" spray that is injected into the evaporator drain. Are there any other tried & true methods to clean an AC ...

Replacement of Headlight Bulb - How do I get the assemblies apart to get to the bulbs?
I did get one done, but I may have broken something? I can't get the aux/flasher assembly back in the proper position and the bottom is very loose.

Usually, the headlight assemblies stay in place and assembled - to replace the bulbs. The bulbs are accessed from the rear of the headlight assembly housing - from under the hood.
Check the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website for more specific steps to replace the headlight bulbs. You may also try this website link for detailed steps; http://www.bodyshopzone.com/.../...l_GM_minivan.html

Insufficient coolant , trapped air in the cooling system might not have enough coolant to full fill the heater core.
The hot coolant flows from the engine to the heater core through the "inlet" hose. After circulating through the core, the coolant returns to the water pump through the "outlet" or "return" hose. Both the inlet and outlet return hoses should feel hot when the engine is at normal operating temperature and the heater is on.

      1. If the both heater core hoses were cooled, then this vehicle might have an insufficient coolant in the cooling system.
      2. If the heater core inlet hose is hot and the outlet hose is cool, the heater core might be clogged.

Note: check the radiator coolant level and top it off as needed.

Some cooling systems have air bleed valves built into the system to aid in the removal of air pockets. Advice: For many cooling systems, the method of removing air pockets is to start the engine and allow it to run with the radiator cap off or loose until all the air escapes from the neck of the radiator. For some systems this method is not sufficient, and the manufacturer has installed air bleed valves usually near or on the thermostat housing.

Simply take your time and be neat. Don't use anything that is over sized to pry things and care enough not to hurt the plastic. You might need an UPHOLSTERY TOOL, along with something that keeps gaps open for you while you're working your way around the door

Interior courtesy/dome lights dont work, i checked all the fuses and bulbs, is there a "interior light relay" to blame?
this has been this way for awhile, the interior lights worked once for about a week (out of the blue) then stopped again. the fuses and bulbs are ok, is there a "Interior Light Relay"? Where is it located? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thx, Bob

The cause of your no interior lights is either a bad BCM - (Body Control Module) or something related to a broken wire in the circuit wiring. The BCM acts as the "relay" you mentioned, but it controls way more than just the interior lights. But, ultimately, if the BCM receives a ground input from any of the 4 door jam switches, the BCM then supplies 12 volts to the courtesy light circuit.

Need to replace window guides on front windows.
Already have door panel off. However I cannot figure how to get thew guide into the track???

Most of the rubber guides I have replaced, it was just a matter of feeding the end of the rubber into the track and pulling down and pushing down at the same time. If the tracks can be removed by removing a couple of retaining bolts, you could put the rubber in the track first, but heh, I am not able to picture the exact configuration on a Ciera that you are dealing with.

HVAC controller -- Can I use OBD2 to test whether the controller works?
I heard that you can use the OBD2 code check device to determine whether the HVAC controller is bad. Air blows out the wrong vents, and the heat does not always come on. All of the lights come on on the control panel.

No you cannot use the standard OBD code reader to read climate control data and / or climate control fault codes. This may help some though..

      1. Access the vacuum connector on the programmer. Verify more than 20" manifold vacuum on the Purple vacuum hose with a vacuum gauge and not simply checking with your finger.

      2. If vacuum is OK, jump the vacuum source to the Orange for recirculation

      3. Jump the vacuum source to the Blue for heater, White for defrost and both the White and Green for vent.

      4. Replace the vacuum actuator that does not respond as it is supposed to.

      This may help also....

      1. Apply vacuum to the Blue hose at the programmer vacuum hose connector and check fro air flow from the center vent.

      2. Check for vacuum at the Blue hose from the programmer with "MID" position selected on the control head.

      3. If no vacuum, replace the programmer.

      4. Verify there are no leaks at the vacuum hose connector to the programmer.

Add'l note: many times the cause is with a broken vacuum line from the vacuum source to the inside of the dash.

Usually, this indicates a faulty window regulator, or window channels / guides that need lubrication. I'd remove the door panel and try the lubrication as first step. Clean out the window channels, reomve all old grease and dirt - and spray a light lubricant such as WD40 inside the window guides to see if this may correct the issue.
Try these sources; www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com - to list only a few - for the window regulator assembly. For example, they (RockAuto) list the regulator from around $34.00 (without motor) for your vehicle.

Cool on the driver side and hot on the pass side is almost always caused by a faulty pass side blend door actuator. If it were the reverse (cool on passenger side and hot on driver side the cause is always that the system is low on refrigerant.)
