This sounds more like a transmission that has weak internal clutches or low fluid pressure. Usually this will happen when you accelerate rapidly and the tranny needs to downshift quickly.

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

I'm currently trying to find out whether or not it is worth replacing the timing chain in my 2005 Quest, and the problem with acceleration was one of the symptoms. Might have that checked, because it isn't something a mechanic would automatically assume in a 2005 vehicle. Several Nissan models from the 2004-2007 time frame have evidently been having this problem with the timing chain but despite a class action suit, Nissan corporate will not issue a recall.

Sorry for the double post. Hopefully the moderator will delete the second one. I failed to mention that it is the secondary timing system that has a problem. Evidently the fasteners are faulty and there are problems with the secondary system as a result.

Is it possible to overfill the transmission fluid? I have a 6 speed manual transmission.
I think that a local mechanic might have put too much transmission fluid in my vehicle while doing some repairs. I was told that this was impossible. Who is right?

being a manual all you have to do to check is park it somewhere flat and pull out the fill plug. it's possable and it will make it shift hard and the trans run hotter.

Manual transmission revving hard before accelerating
This issue is through all gears and started on Weds 9/17/14. Reverse is fine, but when going through the other gears the car revs hard before accelerating

sounds like the clutch is starting to slip, your forward gears are higher ratio then reverse , so it takes more force for the clutch to hold.

pull the trans dipstick it should be red and smell like your power steering fluid. if it smells burnt or is brown or black it is a sign of something bad. if its low take your time filling it over full will make it shift funny too. also what is the idle rpm of the engine. if it idles high that would make it go in hard also.

New clutch installed, engine not functioning correctly
I recently replaced the entire clutch in my 06 nissan 350z and the engine feels like it skips and shutters for a second or two. I believe this is happening because the new clutch kit and flywheel are half the weight of the old one and the computer isn't reading it ...

Wheel Bearing on Left Front Wheel

The price quote received sounds too expensive - the front wheel / hub bearing assembly should cost no more than around $50.00 for the part itself.

You should be able to have both the front hub / bearing assemblies replaced for around $200.00 or so - both wheels as is recommended, due to age / mileage and wear considerations. Find another repair shop to perform the front hub / bearing assembly replacement for a much lower cost.

The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the front hub bearing assemblies from around $42.00 each for your vehicle.
