    Auto locks used to work
Bought the car a month ago and the auto locks worked. Three days later, a yellow indicator on the dash came on (it looks like a person sitting with an airbag in its face). The indicator will blink (blinks five times, then stays on). Since then, auto locks haven't ...

When headlights are turned on, there are no dashlights. But both turnsignal indicators light up. What's causing it?
We have changed the headlight switch and checked all the fuses.

1st- check to see if the fuse for the dash lighting, etc is good
2nd- if fuse is good, then it could be burned out dash bulbs or the dimmer switch might have went bad

I do know that there is a sensor that kicks in when the engine warms up the fan motor should slow down and change the air flow from the Defrosters to the dash board (face ) outlets, my AC doesn't blow anywhere except out the defrosters all the time.-- I am wondering where the sensor is located and is there a selonid that changes these vacum accuated damper doors that control the flow direction?

Check the panel / defrost actuator ( it determines the air flow location ). The actuator is made out of the plastic materials, a cracked could have stopped the synchronizing gear operation.

What switch are you talking about, being good? Did you check for voltage, anywhere? Is this with or without drl? There may be a lighting controll module involved? I don't know if there would be trouble codes for that module, but, check and see. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free.

No air from dash vents.AC or heat.
Some air from floor ducts and vents on top of dash. What controls regular dash vents? Some times after about 15 min. everything will work, but intermittently. Are the dash vents fused or do they work with a relay? How do I find it

Knocking sound when I have the AC or Heater fan on.
Sound is intermittent and coming from the passenger side dashboard. If I adjust the fan speed or temperature, the knocking might start or stop. It stops completely when the fan is turned offf.

It could be that the the impeller has come loose or some thing else is getting in its way.

It sounds like you have to remove the blower motor for a visual inspection. There may be debris inside the blower wheel, or the blower motor bearing may have failed and is now causing noise. The blower motor is fairly easy to remove, usually held in place with three or four 7 or 8mm screws.

The factory set code cannot be reprogrammed but you can create your own 5 digit personal entry code. When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation.
Up to three personal entry codes may be programmed to the vehicle. To create your own personal entry code:
      1. Enter the factory set code.
      2. Within five seconds press the 1 / 2 on the keypad.
      3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other.
      4. Press 1 / 2, 3 / 4 or 5 / 6 to indicate which of the three personal entry code positions you wish to use.
      5. The doors will again lock then unlock to confirm that your personal key code has been programmed to the module.

Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal code.
If you program a code to a position that already contains a set code, the previously-set code will be erased.
      Erasing personal code
      1. Enter the factory set 5 digit code.
      2. Within five seconds, press the 1 / 2 on the keypad and release.
      3. Press and hold the 1 / 2 for two seconds. This must be done within five seconds of completing Step 2.
All personal codes are now erased and only the factory set 5 digit code will work.

My headlight switch (mounted left side of dash) isn't turning on.
When I first start my car & turn my lights on the illumination for my headlights isn't visible. If I hit it a few times (the good ol fashioned American way) it will come on but seems dimmer than it should normally be.

It seems like a short ,loose connection or could be a head-light bulb going bad.I would shake the wires and see if anything changes and take out the head light bulb if it has a bulb and see if the filament looks flimsy. If it has sealed domes check the push-on connection.

    Power window does not work
I took the door panel off and got the motor out and the cable that runs the pulley, snapped. The pulley seems to be fine. Is this fixable and how can it be done. There is very little space to work.

If the window lift cable is broken, then the repair is replace the window regulator assembly itself - without the motor. For the replacement parts, try the many on-line parts sources, such as; www.autopartswarehouse.com or www.rockauto.com - to list only two. For example, they (RockAuto) list the window regulator assembly (without motor) from around $20.00 each for your vehicle. If the window lift motor is defective - then replace the entire window regulator assembly - with the motor - from around $47.00 each (same source).
